KeyMarshall provides dispatch and job management software used by automotive locksmith and roadside key service companies. This policy describes what information is collected through KeyMarshall and how it is used.
Information We Collect
When you request service from a locksmith company using KeyMarshall — a lockout, a replacement key, a rekey, or ignition work — that company collects the information you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, service address, and vehicle details including year, make, model, license plate and VIN.
Technicians and office staff who use KeyMarshall to do their jobs have their own account, identified by a name, an email address used as a login identifier, and a phone number.
Vehicle and Key Information
Producing a key requires vehicle identification, and the records created in the course of a job may include a VIN, a key code, and the programming method used. This information is treated as sensitive: it is stored against the specific job, is visible only to the locksmith company that performed the work, and is never sold, shared for marketing, or made available to other companies using KeyMarshall.
Location
If a technician needs to find you and the address on file is incomplete, the company can text you a link that asks you to share your location. Sharing is entirely optional and happens only when you open that link and grant permission in your own browser. The location is used to route a technician to you and is attached to that job. KeyMarshall does not track customers in the background, and there is no customer app that could.
Photos, Signatures and Job Content
Technicians and staff can take or upload photos to document a vehicle's condition or the work performed, and can record notes and a signed work authorization. This content is stored against the specific job and is visible to that locksmith company's own staff.
Service Requests From the Web
A company can publish a page where customers request service directly. To protect that form from abuse, a one-way irreversible fingerprint of the sender's IP address is recorded with the request. The IP address itself is not stored and cannot be recovered from the fingerprint.
Browser Notifications
If a staff member turns on browser notifications, their browser issues a subscription identifier that is stored against their account so alerts — such as a new job — can be delivered. This is used for nothing else and can be revoked at any time from the browser.
Text Message (SMS) Communications
If you provide a mobile phone number, the locksmith company may send you text messages related to your service, including job status updates (technician dispatched, on the way, arrived, work started, job finished), a link to share your location, a work authorization or agreement to review and sign, a receipt, and a post-service request to leave a review. Message frequency varies based on your service. Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any service. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
How Information Is Used
All of the information described above is used solely to operate and provide the locksmith service: dispatching a technician, documenting the work, invoicing, and customer support. None of it is used for advertising, analytics, or to personalize content, and it is never combined with data from other companies' apps or websites.
Information Sharing
Information is not sold, and is not shared with third parties or affiliates for advertising, marketing, or tracking purposes. Information may be shared with service providers — hosting, database, text messaging, and mapping providers — solely to the extent necessary to provide the features described above, and is only visible within the locksmith company you contacted or that employs you.
Data Retention and Deletion
Job records are retained by the locksmith company for as long as they need them for business and tax purposes. To request that your information be deleted, contact the company that performed your service, or email us at support@keymarshall.com from the email address or phone number associated with your service. Requests are processed within 30 days, except where a record must be retained by law.
Children
KeyMarshall is business software and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
